As a thank you, we are giving back

December 1, 2016 marked the 25th anniversary of Comtel Communications, parent company to Simplicity VoIP. Throughout these years, our membership in our community has been and remains one of our most important assets, so we want to say thank you by giving back.

Comtel Communications was founded in 1991 with the idea that we should provide more than just a product or service.  We should support the communities where we do business as well.  In celebrating our 25th anniversary by giving back, we strive to act as a shining example of what it means to be a good steward of your own community.

For each of the next 12 months, Comtel Communications will be donating to a charity that we feel improves the lives of people from all walks of life, who are facing any number of challenges every day. Our goal is to make a meaningful impact on their quality of life. We want to be the reason someone smiles every day.

In addition to a donation, we’ll be featuring the charity we pick each month in our newsletters, on our website, and through our social media efforts, to spread the word on how each is making a difference.

These partners will include groups that support our soldiers, animal shelters, children’s advocacy, and more.

We’re calling this initiative “Gifts of 25” and launch it this month (December 2016) with a donation of 2500 meals to FeedMore. This charity provides healthy meals to the nearly 200,000 children, families and seniors in Central Virginia who face hunger everyday. These are the most vulnerable members of our community, and by leveraging its partnerships with business, faith-based, non-profit and other organizations, FeedMore is able to positively, and significantly, impact our neighbors across 34 counties and cities in Central Virginia.

So we thank you, our customers and friends, for your support these past 25 years. Without you, we could not give back. Your gift is being passed on.

Charity of the Month

Each month, an employee of Comtel | Simplicity is asked to choose a charity for our 25 year Anniversary "Gifts of 25" program.

March 2017

Make-A-Wish of Greater Virginia

March's Charity of the Month is Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia. Make-A-Wish serves a unique, and vital, role in helping strengthen and empower children battling life-threatening medical conditions. Founded in 1987, this dedicated non-profit organization has since granted the wishes of more than 4,600 children. Chosen by our Client Services representative, Lenada Crabb, we are delighted to help Make-A-Wish celebrate its 30 years of generosity with a little bit of our own.

February 2017

Thelma Crenshaw Elementary School

For February, Patrick in our Client Services Department has selected Thelma Crenshaw Elementary School in Midlothian as our charity of the month. Crenshaw Elementary celebrated its own 25th anniversary in 2012 and continues to provide educational services to pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students.

As we all know, many teachers buy their own supplies for their students, so Patrick wanted to help two teachers he knows go above and beyond in their daily duties. Christina Lorenz teaches 3rd grade and Jesse Kelly teaches 5th grade at Crenshaw. Each teacher will receive Visa Gift Cards to purchase 25 Classroom Book Caddies each in which their students can store their books.

January 2017

For January, Patti, in our Client Services Department, chose BARK. Patti has always had a special place in her heart for dogs, so when she decided to foster this beautiful German Shepherd, Lobo, from Bark, she also asked that our January donation go to purchase 25 bags of grain-free dog food for the organization.

Patti and Lobo went to Bark to make the donation and Lobo was glad to hand the credit card over to his old friend, Bob.

We hope you'll join with us to support BARK. There are dozens of wonderful dogs there just waiting for the right owner. Even if you don't have room for a dog, please consider a donation to this all volunteer organization.

December 2016

For our first month of "25 Gifts" we are honored to donated 2500 meals to the Feed More organization based in Richmond.  FeedMore provides our region’s most vulnerable populations – children, families and seniors – with one of the most basic necessities: nourishment. Families know they can count on the 320 partner food pantries and soup kitchens FeedMore supports.  And they know when they live in an area with limited access to food, their Mobile Pantry will be there for them, providing fresh, nutritious food for well-balanced meals.By leveraging their partnerships with business, faith-based, non-profit and other organizations, we are able to positively, and significantly, impact neighbors across 34 counties and cities in Central Virginia. In 2016 alone, FeedMore was able to provide 19.2 million meals to families and individuals in need. To support this wonderful organization, please visit their site at
